Wichita auto dealer Brandon Steven finished in 24th place in the WSP.The 10th place finish means he just narrowly lost on the chance to play in the final Mini Pool Table. The top nine players in the tournament that ended today qualified to play in November for a top prize of 8.94 million and Poker Chip Sets's richest title.
He had started the tournament on July14 along with 5,418 other players and managed to survive each day until the final one, when he and the other finalists fought it out until early this morning.
He was eliminated after he pushed in all of his chips, holding an ace-king. That's when 25-year-old Matthew Jarvis, of Surrey, British Columbia, called with pocket queens. Steven didn't improve his hand and Jarvis took the rest of his chips.
According to bluffmagazine.com, the flop on the hand came out 10-4-3. The turn was a 4 and the river was a 5.
